Based in Charleston and backed by a network of dedicated volunteers across South Carolina, the Carolina Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a rapid-response unit trained to deploy during natural disasters and crisis events across the Southeast and beyond.
Led by first responders and supported by individuals with diverse skills and emergency qualifications, we exist for one purpose: to help people when they need it most.
CERT is a boots-on-the-ground, all-volunteer nonprofit built from the frontline up. Our team includes:
Whether it’s a hurricane, flood, fire, or search-and-rescue situation, we train year-round to respond fast, work efficiently, and make an impact.
Our mission is simple: to save lives, deliver critical aid, and support communities before, during, and after disasters. We operate with a spirit of service and an unshakable commitment to those left vulnerable in moments of crisis.

When Hurricane Helene devastated parts of coastal North Carolina, CERT mobilized immediately—delivering supplies, clearing roads, and assisting with search-and-rescue operations alongside local authorities. View Gallery

CERT is equipped and ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. Our current resources include:
But we always need more to increase our reach and response time. With your help, we can expand our capabilities, update gear, and be ready for the next mission.
We are 100% donation-driven. Every dollar fuels our missions, puts gas in our trucks, stocks our trailers, and trains our volunteers. You’re not just donating—you’re igniting resilience and keeping us prepared.
